Evolution of the Concept "Naition" and its Modern Interpretation

European Journal of Philosophical Research, 2018, 5(1): 19-30
DOI: 10.13187/ejpr.2018.1.19CrossRef

Abstract:
The article analyzes the evolution of the concepts of "ethnicity" and "nation" in the history of European philosophy and science XVII – early XX centuries, reveals the philosophical foundations and research paradigms of the concept's origin and evolution of ethnic groups and nations. In the article are analyzed in detail naturalistic (primordialist), anthropological, political, sotsientalny (in its socio-economic and cultural versions), subjective-symbolic and ethno-symbolic approaches to the study of ethnic groups and nations, it’s advantages and disadvantages. The author pays special attention to criticism of a paradigm of modern "strategic relativism", which adherents (R. Brubeyker, K. Verderi, F. Cooper, etc.) suggested to refuse the concept "nation".

The Problem of Anthropodization in Modern Times. The System of Mass Communications and Media Culture of the Individual

European Journal of Philosophical Research, 2018, 5(1): 31-46.
DOI: 10.13187/ejpr.2018.1.31CrossRef

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the actualization of the problem of anthropodicy (human justification). In the context of Russian religious philosophy of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, human justification is possible only with simultaneous theodicy (justification of God). It is shown in the modern world, where media define and construct reality, the problem of anthropodicy can not be posed. However, the hypertext structure of the mass communication system allows us to develop new approaches to the actualization of anthropodicy. This is necessary in order to counteract the onset of posthuman civilization.

Analysis of Methodological Consciousness

European Journal of Philosophical Research, 2018, 5(1): 47-57.
DOI: 10.13187/ejpr.2018.1.47CrossRef

Abstract:
In this article, the author formulates the interval conception of methodology of science. Turning to the history of methodology, the interval approach from the point of view of the author is the application of a number of philosophical and specifically interval categories to the study of a multidimensional object. The key here are such concepts as "interval of abstraction", the principle of discreteness, relativity, interval localization of the object. As for the interval method, it involves an interval operation, gnoseological focusing, conceptual development, the use of specific abstractions − "abstraction of indistinguishability", "abstraction of identification" and etc. An important element of the interval method is the construction of the interval of abstraction as a multidimensional cognitive space. Analysis of all these concepts at the philosophical level is already the development of interval methodology in general. Thus, the gnoseological accuracy considered in this article is essentially an interval character. It is, albeit changing, but nevertheless each time discrete by the characteristic of the progressive movement of human cognition, continuous within the interval and discontinuous in the transition to another interval. The possibility of obtaining data closer to real values is an important factor in the progress of experimental natural science. The author points out the conceptual importance of the concept of “gnoseological precision”. Thus, epistemological accuracy is essentially of an interval character. It is, albeit changing, but nevertheless each time discrete by the characteristic of the progressive movement of human cognition, continuous within the interval and discontinuous in the transition to another interval.

Scientific Truth: Social Issue and Consensual Character

European Journal of Philosophical Research, 2018, 5(1): 58-67.
DOI: 10.13187/ejpr.2018.1.58CrossRef

Abstract:
In the article develops the theory of social nature and consensual character of scientific truth. Its background is the constructive-representation conception of scientific cognition on all levels of scientific knowledge: sensual, empiric, theoretic and metatheoretic. The consensual interpretation of scientific truth is the alternative theory of two other wide and popular epistemological paradigms : empirism and rationalism, which are mistake. To according the first paradigm the sours, foundation and criteria of the any scientific truth is empirical experience. But it is contradiction the criteria of truth mathematic knowledge and also scientific theories in natural science and humanities. To according the rationalistic paradigm the sours, foundation and criteria of the any scientific truth is thinking and its such methods as intellect intuition, deduction and idealization. But the paradigm contradicts the way of determination of sense data truth, also empiric facts and particular empiric laws. To according the consensual conception the scientific cognition and all its products have social-historical nature and on principle collective character and the main subject of scientific cognition is disciplinary scientific community. Its successful function has foundation not only subject-object cognition relation and also subject-subject communications members of the scientific community. To reason on principle as empirical and also theoretical nondefinit of any unity of scientific knowledge, the scientific community decision relative its truth always is expert and consensual.

Long Rout of Self-Knowledge (to the Issue of the Movement of Thought in History)

European Journal of Philosophical Research, 2018, 5(1): 68-76.
DOI: 10.13187/ejpr.2018.1.68CrossRef

Abstract:
Man, wishing to become the master of nature, has not yet become the master of their own passions. Today the world is balancing on the verge of ecological catastrophe and nuclear war leading to mutual destruction. All of this, and much more, makes the actual task of self-knowledge a very urgent one. Catching up with the self-knowledge, "I" notice that I represent for myself something unreachable, because it contents many various – economic, political, religious and cultural components. My self-actualization can be blurred by political and ideological conjuncture. Russian national ideology can be understood as the deployment of the well-known formula of Count Uvarov: "Orthodoxy, Autocracy, Nationality" through the Russian history. Each of the constituents of the formula experienced a strong shaking time, but it is still actual, though in some modified form. It is known to the European consciousness from Christianity, that the sails of history are blown by the winds of Truth, Justice and Freedom. So it will be in the future, if the main of the Freedoms, the Freedom of creativity, will be guided by responsibility.

«Processual» Look at the World of the Human: from Nonclassical to Postnonclassical Anthropology

European Journal of Philosophical Research, 2018, 5(1): 77-85.
DOI: 10.13187/ejpr.2018.1.77CrossRef

Abstract:
In the nonclassical model of the human world distinction between the subject and the object, the individual and the environment, between the essence (substance) and the process is erased. It proceeds from the incompleteness of being and expresses doubt that the world already exists, and everything is in it as it is. In this sense, the human world is always open to change and needs an understanding of the Other. Its constitution implies continuous communication with this Other, which certifies by its presence the fact of its existence. Postnonclassical anthropology in my understanding seeks to overcome the relativism and particularism of nonclassical ideas about man. It tends toward polycentricity and the combination of the cognitive capabilities of substantionalism and the procedural approach. Therefore, there may be several centers in the human world, each of which assumes its own way of meaning (meaning of life, life strategies, etc.). It is regarded as a «territory of meanings», the integrity and unity of which is supplemented by its split and multiplicity. The procedural methodology is the most suitable for the study of the world of human life. However, its supporters, opposing their approach to substantionalism, interpret it using the principles of «out-of-the-ordinary» and ontological freedom, which is not a sufficient basis. The procedural approach presupposes such criteria as the «intuition of the process», the change in the quality of being (the «shift of being»), the subject-predicate cohesion, the existence of a life project (as the image of the «house of being»), the production of events (autopoiesis) and etc.

System-Pluralistic Concept of the Scientific Method

European Journal of Philosophical Research, 2018, 5(1): 86-96.
DOI: 10.13187/ejpr.2018.1.86CrossRef

Abstract:
The article analyzes the work of the famous Russian expert on the methodology of scientific knowledge S. A. Lebedev, who published in recent years a number of fundamental works on this issue (Lebedev, 2015a, 2015b, 2017e, 2018). The subject of the study of the last monograph, which was a generalization of previous works of the author, was the history and theory of the scientific method (Lebedev, 2018). We will dwell on it in particular. In the first part, the main concepts of the scientific method in the history of the philosophy of science from antiquity to our time are analyzed. The second part deals with the theoretical problems of the modern methodology of science. The author develops the system concept of the scientific method as an interconnected set of various cognitive tools used in real scientific cognition. In contrast to the two, the alternative and widespread paradigms of interpreting the nature of the scientific method: the universalistic (monistic) and pluralistic (additive) the author develops a system-pluralistic theory of the scientific method.
